um
Today for breakfast we had this Overnight Crockpot Oatmeal.  It worked out perfect that I had it ready when we woke up as Bill got called out for an emergency call this morning to a Giant Eagle in Columbus.

I awoke during the night and smelled something yummy and had to think what it was and it dawned on me that it was my breakfast down in the kitchen cooking for me.  It was super easy to do, just put your ingredients in the crockpot, turn it on low and go to bed,

Make sure you grease/spray your crockpot pretty good as the oatmeal is really stuck to the sides.  But nothing a little soaking in water is not going to take care of.

I scooped my oatmeal into a bowl and then I topped mine off with some brown sugar, chopped candied pecans, a little cinnamon sugar and then drizzled butter.........an it was so good!  Perfect on a cold morning!  The oatmeal right out of the crockpot is a little bland but you can add whatever toppings you want....chocolate chips...maple syrup...milk...dried fruit....let your imagination take you to new flavors!

Overnight Crockpot Oatmeal
1 C steel cut oats
2 1/2 C milk
1 C whipping cream
2 t vanilla extract
1/2 t cinnamon
1/2 t nutmeg

topping:
brown sugar to your taste
chopped candied pecans
cinnamon sugar
melted butter

Grease/spray inside of crockpot.  Place all oatmeal ingredients into the crock, cover with lid and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours.

Scoop out and add your favorite toppings and enjoy!
