Brunch to me is a treat.  I love to be invited to showers that are a Brunch with all my favorite treats, Egg Bakes, Danishes, Fruit and Yogurt to name a few.

Yesterday Cally and her girlfriends from Church were hosting a Baby Shower for Janie.  I have written about the girls in a previous post so you may recognize them.

Cally, Laura and Nikki (not pictured) hosted a Baby Shower for their high school friend Janie.  Janie is the first to have a baby.  All the girls are so excited awaiting Logan's arrival.

Here is the punch the girls served.  I thought it was so cute with the little rubber duckies floating inside.  It tasted good too!  I would make it for any type of picnic.  It was Blue Hawaiian punch, lemonade and sierra mist.  As the punch was dispensed out the little duckies swam around the top of the container.

I made one of the Egg Bakes that was served for brunch.  Mine is a simple Meat, egg, toast and cheese egg bake.  Laura's mom made another that was awesome.  Hers had lots of goodies in it, hash browns, onions and peppers to name a few.  My recipe was more on the bland side where hers had some spice to it.  I enjoyed some of each :)

3 Meat Breakfast Egg Bake

10 eggs
1 1/2 cups half and half
1 cup milk
1 1/4 teaspoons dry mustard
pinch of salt
8 slices toast
3 cups Kraft Three Cheese blend, or just Cheddar is perfect also, reserve 1 cup for topping
8 ounces diced ham (fully cooked)
9.6 ounces Jimmy Dean Sausage Crumbles (fully cooked)
12 ounces bacon, cooked and chopped

Cube the toasted bread and place in a large bowl.  To the bread add all the meat and turn to mix in. set aside.

In another large bowl whisk together the eggs, milk, half and half, salt and ground mustard.

To assemble the egg bake:
Grease a 9x13 baking pan.  Add half of the bread mixture, sprinkle on 1 cup of the cheese and then pour half of the egg mixture over top.  Repeat with the remaining bread mixture, 1 cup cheese and egg mixture.  The remaining 1 cup of cheese can be sprinkled on top of the egg bake the last 5 minutes of baking.

Cover with foil and place in the refrigerator overnight.

Bake covered at 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes.  Depending on how hot your oven heats.  My was done at 50 minutes but I baked another at the Church and it took almost a full hour.  Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top of the egg bake the last 5 minutes of baking to give the top a nice cheesy layer.
