As your probably know Chocolate Cake is not my favorite, however this Devil's Food Butter Cake is a winner with me.  There is something about Devil's Food Cake that I like, maybe the added coffee makes for a different flavor than a regular chocolate cake?  I don't know what it is but I do like this cake.  If you are a chocolate lover then this is the cake for you!  Rich, ooey gooey, chocolate flavor awaits your taste buds!

I know ... it could be that I just love butter cakes :)  As you can probably tell her lately I would rather have a cake that has been drowned in a butter glaze than  a cake iced with buttercream.  There is just something magical when you drizzle the warm cake with the butter and sugar glaze.

Oh and don't forget the chocolate ganache made with warm cream and chocolate chips... I think it might be time to make me another one of these cakes!!!!

I baked the cake in my favorite 6 inch bundt pan.  I like using this pan for when I make cake for just Bill and I.  Otherwise I will eat practically the whole 12 cup bundt cake myself :)

You can always use a regular size bundt pan and just increase the ingredients and bake time.

Devil's Food Butter Cake

1/3 box of Devil's Food Cake Mix ( I used Duncan Hines )
1/3 small box chocolate pudding
2 eggs
2 tablespoons oil
1/3 cup hot coffee

Preheat oven to 325 degrees

Grease and flour 6 inch bundt pan.  Combine all ingredients and mix together for 2 minutes.  Pour into 6 inch bundt pan, bake for about 25-30 minutes.

Butter Glaze

3 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup water

Mix and boil 3-4 minutes.  Pour butter glaze over the hot cake (while cake is still in the pan)  Let cool about 20-30 minutes, remove cake from pan and place on serving dish.

Chocolate Ganache

1/4 cup whipping cream
2 ounces milk chocolate chips

Warm whipping cream in microwave for about 30-45 seconds until very hot.  Pour hot whipping cream over chocolate chips and stir until melted and combined.  If a thicker ganache is desired use more chocolate chips to thicken it up.

For a regular size bundt pan....
