It's almost that time of year..... Holiday Baking time!
It's time to take inventory and start prepping for the upcoming holiday baking.  Bill and I visited Amish Country last week and I purchased some of my cookie supplies for the upcoming holiday season.

Everywhere you look lately you see Sea Salted Caramels  and I love Sea Salted anything :) but especially soft, gooey, melt in your mouth Sea Salted Caramels.

Today I started a little different Vanilla Extract recipe than I usually use and it was a no brainer for me to add Sea Salted Caramels along with my Vanilla Beans to make my holiday vanilla extract.

The Vanilla Extract needs to be started at least 6 weeks ahead of time to make sure the Vanilla Beans and Sea Salted Caramels  infuse your vodka.

I usually use either Vanilla flavored Vodka or just plain Vodka but for this special extract I thought I would try using Whipped Cream flavored Vodka.

To make my extract, I opened up the vodka and poured some out of the bottle and added it to another bottle of vanilla I have infusing but you can either make yourself a drink :) or  just save it in another bottle.  Next cut 5 Vanilla Beans  in half and 10 Sea Salted Caramels (about 5 ounces) up so that the pieces can easily be dropped into your bottle of vodka.

Drop the cut up Vanilla Beans and Sea Salted Caramels into your bottle of vodka.

Each day turn your Sea Salted Caramel Vanilla Extract back and forth a few times for the next 6 weeks or until your vanilla is infused to your liking.
