Tomato Soup

I don't think I will ever eat Tomato Soup from a can ever again!  This creamy homemade Tomato Soup was awesome!  It reminded me of a Tomato Soup we get at an Italian Restaurant in Urbana name Cafe Paradiso.



Tomato Soup

28 ounce can crushed tomatoes
2  6 ounce cans tomato paste
1 cup water
2 teaspoons chicken stock base
1 cup tomato juice
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
3 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 cups whipping cream

In a large pot mix everything except the whipping cream.  Heat until hot.  Pour soup into a blender and pulse until smooth, pour in the whipping cream and pulse until blended.

Pour soup back into the soup pot and heat again until hot and serve

We ate ours with a pinch of Monterey Jack Cheese and Croutons :)
